First Generation in the New World

1. EDWARD¹ WYER, was born in Scotland7 about 16228 and died at Charlestown, Massachusetts on 03 May 1693, “an aged Scotsman“. He married at Charlestown, Massachusetts on 05 Jan 1659, ELIZABETH JOHNSON, daughter of William and Elizabeth Johnson. She married, second, WILLIAM MONROE, of Cambridge, also a SPOW.8

Biographical Notes:
According to a statement in The History of Malden, MA on page 601, Edward Wiar was a Scotchman.9 Edward’s widow remarried William Munroe, another Scottish Prisoner of War. “Page, 84 CITY DOCUMENT No. 39. The 20 : of April ’63 : granted vnto Edward Wyer by Tickett to Cutt and Carrie Six Cord of fire wood for his own use of Charls- tow, wood interest on Maulden side, comon, by Saml Lewis, before march next ensuing.”10

2. ii. EDWARD² WYER, JR, (Edward¹), was born at Charlestown about 1661 and died before 25 Dec 1689. He married at Cambridge, Middlesex, Massachusetts on 01 Sep 1684, ABIGAIL LAWRENCE.11 , daughter of JOHN and SUSANNA LAWRENCE of Charlestown, but died within a few years; his widow married 25 Dec 1689, NICHOLAS LAWRENCE, of Charlestown.8

2. iii. ROBERT² WYER, (Edward¹) was born at Charlestown on 10 Feb 1664. He married, RUTH JOHNSON.8
